Frosty Leaf

When I came across this fallen autumn leaf covered in frost, it brought to mind the impermanence of what the ancient Chinese philosophers called "the ten thousand things." The glowing leaf appeared to be frozen in time. However, I realized that as soon as the sun returned, the frost would melt, and the leaf would slowly disintegrate and return to the earth which gave it life.
