Old Garage

I always enjoy exploring back alleys with my camera. They are often home to hidden treasures like this old garage that I came across recently. No doubt its owner would like to have the building fixed up and freshly painted one day. However, I'm glad that for now it is being allowed to languish as there is beauty to be found everywhere, even in decay.

Moment of Clarity

Some images have stories to tell and lessons to teach. Others simply stop the mind in its tracks like a Zen koan. No words are necessary or perhaps even possible.

Urban Fantasy

I'm not usually a fan of boxy modern office buildings, but these playful reflections in a glass window caught my eye. Sometimes seeing things from a new perspective can make all the difference.

Stone Walls

During my walks, I often come across stone walls surrounding houses and gardens. Not only are they fun to photograph, but also they speak of the skill and patience that were needed to fit the irregularly shaped stones together like pieces of a giant jigsaw puzzle.

An Ordinary Window

I might easily have walked by this unassuming window without giving it a second glance. However, I decided to stop and take a closer look at it. In doing so, I was taken with the contrasting rough and smooth textures and rigid geometric shapes softened by the playful patterns on the curtains. All too often, in our search for the exotic, we risk missing the beauty of the ordinary.
