I return often to this peaceful park not far from where I live. There is always something new to discover. This time I was greeted by these bright pink rhododendrons in full bloom, a sure sign of spring and the promise of renewal that it brings.

This image of a person walking alone in a misty park says to me that one of the most precious things in life is solitude, especially these days when we're connected to each other 24/7 by our phones and computers. People often associate solitude with loneliness, but it really has nothing to do with that.

I often sit on a memorial bench in this peaceful park near where I live. A plaque mounted on the bench says that the woman to whom it is dedicated found tranquility in the park. Although I didn't know her, I like to think that her spirit is still there as I contemplate the trees and the changing seasons.
